Connect the Dots Career Services is the exciting result of my 30+ years of work in the Community Services Industry, across 3 States/Territories. It draws on my skills, experiences and qualifications gained during this time and is a service which supports clients with a disability, particularly (but not exclusively), young school leavers with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are transitioning from high school into employment or further training of their choice.

The concept of ‘connecting the dots’ is exactly what I do. With a person-centred, holistic approach, I assist each client to establish their career pathway, set goals and then support them to achieve these goals whilst navigating their journey, whether this is whilst they transition from high school or at any life transition point.  My extensive experience and knowledge of the VET Sector and SACE, enables me to be able to simplify and support students and their family through this often confusing and overwhelming process.
Being a holistic service means I will partner with other service providers when required and ‘wrap support’ around each client in order to empower them to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Having previously worked in Disability Employment has meant I can support clients to research and choose the best fit with a DES Provider. My support can continue alongside the DES Employment Consultant or eventually phase out when the client is comfortable with this.

As a parent, I have first-hand experience with navigating the NDIS and understand just how overwhelming yet exciting this process can be.

Our Dragonfly Logo

Dragonflies have always impressed & intrigued me. During Summer 2017, whilst out walking along the esplanade at Seaford, a swarm of them converged along our coast, every now and then, one would fly level with my face like it was watching me and perhaps bringing a message. After much research, I learned the following about these creatures and as a result, knew I needed one in my logo; Having been on this earth for 300 million years, these amazingly resilient creatures are said to carry message and symbolise change. They represent transformation and life’s ongoing process of change. Only living for a few months, dragonflies encourage living life in the moment and life to its fullest without regrets. In Japanese Culture, if you are visited by a dragonfly, you should be content knowing that it represents good things. In China, the dragonfly is associated with prosperity, harmony and good luck.

The colours represent the ocean and the dots, the connections I make with my clients. The dragonfly is soaring ‘Onwards & Upwards’, a motto provided to me several years ago from a dear friend and work colleague who has sadly since passed.
